Concealed Carry Legal (CCL)

CCL is Part-2 of training required to obtain your NC Concealed Handgun Permit. CCL is a 4hr lecture that presents NC law regarding the use of defensive force, deadly force, and requirements concerning concealed handgun carry. A required written test is conducted at the end of class.

In addition to this CCL class, you must also take and pass pur Defensive Handgun Fundamentals (DHF) course or arrange a private training session, before EDR can issue you a training certificate required to obtain your CHP.

You must then submit the CHP training certificate to the Sheriff's Office in your county of residence when you apply for a CHP permit. Go to your local Sheriff's Office website for information regarding how they handle CHP registration in your county.

This course is recommended for anyone desiring to apply for a NC concealed carry permit, OR anyone who requires refresher training on NC law related to concealed carry. All handbook materials and a written test are included in this course.

This class meets all requirements of the North Carolina Administrative Code: 12 NCAC 09F

Parking & Access: You may parallel park on the street. You will be greeted at the door. Knock if nobody is there to greet you. We typically leave a range sign displayed on the front porch so that you know you're in the right place.

Reminder: All firearms must remain secured or concealed unless directed otherwise by EDR. DO NOT handle or display any firearms in the classroom facility.

• Each student MUST submit a completed & signed EDR liability waiver.
• Each student MUST submit a completed & signed COVID-19 policy document.
• There are no training pre-requisites for this course.
• Each student MUST meet all Federal and State laws to possess and operate a handgun

Class Overview

• The class will begin promptly at the time indicated. Students should plan on arriving at least 10-15 minutes early.
• The CCL class is a minimum of 4 hours in length and requires successful completion of additional handgun training to qualify for a CCH training certificate.

• The CCL course does not require a firearm, this is classroom lecture only
• Note taking materials; pen/pencil/paper
• Hydration
• Classroom seating will be socially spaced
• COVID PPE is not mandated, but you may wear a mask if you desire
• The presenter will not be masked
